Junior Rangers
1 1/2 up to 3 years
The toddler period is a time of rapid and dramatic development--and the excitement and joy of our Junior Rangers' classroom shows it!
We use this window of time to introduce new ideas, new words, and new means of self-expression through song, art, investigation, and collaboration. As our Junior Rangers learn how to express their individual needs and desires, they are also beginning to distinguish themselves from others.
Our most important work in this period is to begin to plant the seeds of empathy. Group activities promote understanding of "community" and the idea of "working together".
Entertaining songs, games, and stories teach the Juniors to take care of themselves, each other, and the environment. Teachers and older peers reinforce these principles by modeling and teaching good manners, good hygiene, and personal responsibility.
